egg, because it is logical, so it's up to you how you like to group them, you can even create two albums, one for "Sep 2013 kid photos" and one "2013 Fall Pics", and just add the photos that fit the categories to the albums.  So if you take a pic with chloe next to the pumpkin, u can add the same pic to both albums.  Picasa just creates links to the actual file.  And if later u want to send all the "Sep 2013 kid photos" to a friend, you can either export that album in Picasa (and it will get all the files make copy it to a separate folder for u), or you can just sync to google plus and share the album in google plus like u share photos in fb.

I still don't understand....is that a program?  

I think other softaware probably does similar thing but Picasa is free and quite stable and it integrate well with google plus that's why i picked it.

yeah.. super time consuming to do all the old photos.. but for new photos, as long as you don't get the photos piled up, it's not too bad.  So after a event, 100 new photos came in, I touched up the ones that I want to share, add them to the "2013-09 Pumpkin Patch" album and it is ready to be shared, then I add ALL the photos to "2013-09 Pumpkin Patch ALL" album which includes all the blurry ones or bad pics (u can totally skip this if you don't plan to have these online), and then a few extra clicks to add the "2013 小米寫照" album so I got a good collection of his photos for 2013.  It's not that much work but it will keep the pics so organized and a lot easier to search in future.
