近乎完美的北京奧運開幕禮，近日卻接連被內地及外國傳媒踢爆有「造假」成分。在開幕禮上獻唱《歌唱祖國》的9歲紅衣女孩林妙可，歌聲感動全國，在網上迅速竄紅，更有網友組織粉絲群組，但原來其歌聲是由另一名外形不及她的女孩幕後代唱；全球觀眾從電視看到的「巨人腳印」煙火，大部分畫面均是預先拍好、套在實景上的3D影像。有北京學者認為，如此大事都造假，反映有關部門只顧面子，事情被揭露，會對中國國家和政府形象造成極大損害。
