No Internet after changing modem

Hello,
So i tried a different modem.. with that i removed all the cable/ports to my actual modem after I putted in the different modem so in my pc showed up a new network setup so i setted it to Home Network afterwards i tried to connect to the internet and it can't connect... So go'ed back to my modem and when i plugged it in again the Internet line in my modem is not lighting up because usually if it works the lights are all up but when i plugged it back in.. the Internet light is not on.. it turns red.. or sometimes just blank.
