RM player not function

I just rec'd my rm player from dealxtreme. When i plugged in power and connected it to tv, the 'HOME' screen showed up. However, the remote control seemed like not working except the 'power' button. What would be the problem? Should i change the Lit battery or the remote is defective. I've been trying for the last hour. Need help!!:pn10:

I remember I was having some problem with the remote control too but I cannot remember what the problem was or how I fixed it. But it was probably something really stupid that's why I can't remember.  And I think I switched battery but it did not help.

Which cable did you use?  I think somehow I had to use component first so the remote control would work and I can change some settings so it will recognize the composite output.  But other people  did not have this issue... strange.
