I think you meant 10 episodes of standard TV drama.  I use Nero 6 and TMPGEng DVD Authoring V.1.6.  Both programs can build up a disc which can be played in any DVD players.  Maximum no. of episodes can be squeezed onto a DVD disc is 6 and 9 respectively.  To do that you must convert all rmvb files to mpg1 files.  You may use WinAVI Video Convertor to do the conversion and make certain you have the same output setting for all files, e.g. output in NTSC 320 x 240 format.  If your output files have different formats, it won't accept it at all.

If you just want to play these RMVB files on your computer, Realplayer would serve the purpose.

hey thanx for the advices.
so the output needs to be all the same, aha, that's why i failed to convert all the time

Anyway, how can i convert DAT files to DVD format?
I have a serie in DAT format but i want to change into davd playable.

HELp.

DAT format is usually the same as MPG (or MPEG-1) format.  So if you have a set of DAT files, that saves you the step of converting from rmvb to mpg1.  The rest of the steps are the same as kingjulian has suggested.  If TMPGEnc DVD Authoring does not like the .dat files, rename them to .mpg (e.g. file1.dat -> file1.mpg).

I am a bit confused about your problem..

if you just want to "Burn" the RMVB format file into the DVD Disc (without any menus, the format does not changed), you can use NERO  6 Ultra Edition to get the job done.

is that want you were asking for?

He said  C O N V E R T!!  It's quite unlikely that someone comes to a forum asking just how to   B U R N   some files to a disc.

I'v been using an older version of Tmpgenc which works with rmvb files (later versions produce mpg files without sound) and get very acceptable quality fitting 10 tv episodes of 40 min each onto a dvd disc.Of course, you need to experiment a bit with the settings.

Is that v2.5 that you were using?  I think that is quite nice too.  I tried winavi, but the quality isn't as good (acceptable though).

Yes, 2.54.37.135 Plus. IMO, winavi just can't come close to tmpgenc in terms of quality, but its advantage over tmpgenc is speed.

After I used WinAVI, Nero 6 & TMPGEng DVD Authoring for 6 months,  I jump to the conclusion to use TMPGEng.  The no. of episodes can be fitted onto a 4.7Gb DVD disk depends very much on the size of the rmvb files and the resolutions of the picture.  For WinAVI & Nero, they lack flexibility and whereas TMPGEng can do editing and select stereo or bi-langual audio mode.  You can edit chapter names too.  You can also see if the files are too big to fit into the disk on spot and make changes right away.
I enquired if there is any products by TMPGEng which can convert rmvb files to mpg formats.  Unfortunately, the answer is that their products are not catered for this propose.  I tried TMPGEng Plus 2.5.  It depends on the versions.  Some work and others just won't do the job.  It supposes to be a software for converting AVI(*.AVI) file into MPEG-1/2 file.  So don't expect too much from TMPGEng Plus.

I useTMPGEnc to convert rmvb to vcd mpg, after that, dump all those VCD mpg into one DVD using TMPGEnc DVD Author. And burn it.

for the sound problem on TMPEGEnc, I usually extract the sound right from the rm/rmvb files so that no matter which  TMPEGEnc I am using, i got the sound available for use.
